"I had a large zipped archive which I had password protected some considerable time ago. The trouble was that although I thought I could remember the words that I had used, I also knew I had used spacer characters but not which ones. I also could not remember if the words had been capitalised. I had spent half an hour typing a variety of combinations with no success. Since the password was 25 characters long a brute force attack would have taken forever. I used the Visual Password Recovery program's template attack and set up a word list containing the words I thought were involved plus a few others just in case. I set the program to try a variety of spacer characters between the words and set it running. In about 10 minutes I had my answer. Thanks Dmitry!"
